Why is not my game a smooth transition?

I bought a 720p TV 37In LCD to be used as a secondary monitor for my PC. I have everything connected and everything is great ... film .... the office .... and even computer games look great. I tried several games including Bioshock, Hellgate London, and Call of Duty 4, but everyone seems to have the same problem. When I enter the game my mouse skips when I'm in the menu and then when I enter everything in the game looks great (all games in which are tested on the set max.) I can even run with ASDW keys without any problem. Problem happens I move the mouse. The screen is not a smooth transition. Salta and is impossible to play through. System Specifications: quad-core Phenom 2.4, 4 gigs ram Thurs, EVGA 7800GTX, XP 64-bit. Is this lag just performace? Is it time to upgrade my graphics card? Or am I missing something about the use and LCD TV as monitor? What do you think?

It is time for a new graphics card. The mouse "skipping" is a sign of low fps (frames per second), reflecting the speed and graphics card.
